CHICKEN

Bureau of Local Health Systems Development, Director IV Eric Tayag of the health department tells the public to “enjoy your chicken” as he answered media questions on the safety of eating chicken amid the bird flu virus in san luis pampanga.

Tayag however reminds everyone to cook chicken and eggs thoroughly. “kailangan hard boiled

Tayaf says the virus is not airborne but it can be acquired through direct close contact.

Tayag however said that those who consumed infected chicken overseas did not get sick especially since chicken is cooked anyway.

Just the same, Tayag says Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial has deployed an epidimiologist to San Luis Pampanga.  ang kalihim sec ubial nagpadala ng epidemiologist parta alamin…kung may nahawaan wala pa tayong human cases..ang bird flu sa atin nasa manok pa lang”

Tayag says it may take 17 days or about 2 weeks for symptoms to show on humans.

Tayag recalls that in other countries, as many as 60% of the population were at risk because of bird flu. There is no vaccine available in the country but that can be easily sourced from the WHO.
